If you take a drive north of Downtown Jacksonville you will find yourself in Yulee, Florida. This community is in Nassau County and sits in between Jacksonville and the Florida-Georgia state line here in Northeast Florida. In Yulee is where one of the latest master plan communities, Wildlight, is being built. We like to call Wildlight the "Nocatee of Nassau County" because if you are familiar with Nocatee in St. Johns County, you will quickly see some similarities. Wildlight is built to have many of the same attributes as the master plan communities we have grown to love in Duval and St. Johns County, in an area where there are not yet many options for a lifestyle like this. The Homes

The homes are probably the most attractive feature of the community because of the amount of home you get for your money. With the distance from Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra, you are far enough away to likely enjoy a bit of savings when it comes to the home you’re building. Houses in Wildlight at the time of writing this post range from the $300-$700s. Compare that to the current median price of homes in Nocatee sitting at $695,000.*

You will have your option of builders in Wildlight including Dostie Homes (townhomes), Pulte Homes (single family), Riverside Homes (single family), and Del Webb (55+). There are several smaller neighborhoods inside of the Wildlight community to choose from including Founder’s Park, Forest Park, and Hawthorn Park coming soon.

Not looking to buy? Three different rental options will be available here including both apartments and single family rentals.

The Amenities

What often sets these master plan communities apart from standard neighborhoods are the abundant amenities offered to residents. So many people move to Florida because they want to experience nature all year round, and Wildlight has plenty of that. Over half of the land at Wildlight is preserved wetland and open space where you will find ponds, trails, and parks to enjoy. If you are moving into the 55+ Del Webb community you will also have access to a private clubhouse complete with pickleball, tennis, and bocce ball courts, a pool, a fitness center, a dog park, and more.

In the community, you will also find many conveniences to enjoy. Shopping and dining are coming quickly to the commercial spaces and providing easy access to pick up that last minute grocery or grab a quick bite to eat for lunch. On a hot summer day check out Waterbug Pool and Park which is for members only and makes a great spot to cool off from the heat. Have little ones that are ready for school? Wildlight Elementary can be found right in the community and the Yulee middle school and high school are a short drive away. To make sure your family stays active, head over to the local YMCA location right in the community and purchase a membership.

The Lifestyle

Wildlight is focused on community and is aiming to foster a connected environment. With a dedicated lifestyle director, there are plenty of events happening each month to give you a chance to meet with your neighbors and enjoy the community. Centered around nature, the lifestyle here promotes being active and outside, whether that be a bike ride, hike, or an afternoon spent fishing with friends.

The Location

Located in Nassau County, you will enjoy close proximity to Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach to the west, Jacksonville and St. Augustine to the south, and the Florida-Georgia state line to the north. If you want to take a day trip somewhere a bit further away you are within 2 hours of Savannah, Georgia, and under 2.5 hours to Orlando. From Wildlight you’ll also have quick access to I-95, making for a convenient trip to Downtown Jacksonville.
